(Medical) Fitness

(MEDICAL) FITNESS
Medical fitness is a form of fitness under the guidance of a physiotherapist, in which the training schedule is set up in such a way that, despite your disabilities, you can participate.

You can also see medical fitness as an addition to your rehabilitation after an injury, in consultation with your caregiver (physiotherapist).

THE GOAL

The purpose of medical fitness is to increase fitness / physical capacity by means of training, both total (overall condition) and local (area of complaint).

This creates a better balance between what you do with your body and what your body can have.

FOR WHOM?

These excercises are meant for, among others, people with::

  • Knee problems
  • Back problems, pelvic instability
  • Neck- and shoulder problems
  • Pulmonary ailments
  • Heart- and circular system diseases (angiopathy)
  • Neurological diseases

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Before the training, you first have a consultation with the physiotherapist. The purpose of this consultation is:
  • To get to know you
  • To determine a training goal
  • To estimate your physical functioning and the related limitations..
Depending on the situation the physiotherapist will walk you through the program. With the follow-up trainings, a physiotherapist will always be present, unless otherwise agreed.
